Switched from paper calendars to the city's waste app after missing garbage day twice
I used to keep a paper calendar on my fridge marking garbage and recycling pickup. Missed two collections in a row last month because I forgot to flip the page. My neighbor showed me the Edmonton Waste Services app on her phone and now I get reminders the night before. It also tells me what goes in each bin which has saved me from getting those warning tags. Has anyone else had better luck with the app over a physical schedule?

Paper calendars force you to actually look at the whole month instead of just getting a robot nudge. @joseph932 you're part of the problem, now you're just outsourcing your memory to an app that could glitch out on garbage day. My neighbor had her app crash during an update and missed a whole week - try explaining that to the city when your recycling is overflowing. Plus those warning tags are dumb anyway, half the time they stick them on the wrong bins.

Ha! Welcome to the club of people who realized their fridge calendar was just lying to them. It's funny how we trust an old system just because we've always done it that way, even when it keeps failing us.
