Got a real wake-up call rewiring a 1950s house in Tacoma last month
I was pulling new wire through a finished wall and my fish tape hit something solid. Cut a small hole and found a live, ungrounded 12-gauge line just coiled up and buried in the plaster, hot as hell. The old-timer who did the original work must have just left it there. Now I scope every single wall cavity with my inspection camera before I even think about fishing. Anyone else run into hidden live wires like that?

Remember that inspection camera can miss things too.
