Warning: I thought the new wireless elevator test tools were just a gimmick until I used them on a job in Phoenix.
I was working on a high rise there and the old wired tester was a pain with all the long shaft runs. A guy on site had a set of those Bluetooth enabled tools and let me try them. I could check door lock circuits from the pit without running a line all the way to the machine room, which saved a ton of time. So, what's your take, are these wireless tools actually worth the money or just another thing to break?

Can totally see that saving hours.

Wonder if it saves time but also creates a new problem. Now you have to manage and check all that extra work it did for you.

Grabbed a set for a hospital job in Tucson last month and @paul_owens25 is spot on about the time savings. I was checking lock circuits on a 12 floor bank and being able to stand in the pit with my phone was a game changer. No more running lines through the shaft or yelling at someone on the radio. The battery life is decent too, I got through a whole day on one charge. Only downside is when you drop a tool and the Bluetooth disconnects, but it reconnects fast. Definitely worth it for me, just don't leave them in the truck overnight in the cold.
