inHit 1000 board feet on a single job and it made me check my dust collection setup big time
Has anyone else had to replace a shop vac motor twice because they forgot to clean the filter?

inUsed to roll my eyes at writing prompts that involved random generators, but a 2 AM session with a "fantasy city name" prompt gave me a fully fleshed out marketplace scene.
Wait, shouldn't you be able to build a good story without needing a robot to hold your hand? If a random prompt is what gets you unstuck, your imagination might be the problem, not the solution.

inWarning: My aunt’s "cheap chili" recipe actually costs more than takeout
not gonna lie, you're crunching numbers on chili like it's a tax return. i just make food and eat it, i don't really do the whole cost breakdown thing unless i'm literally broke that week. but yeah if you're buying a whole jar of spices just for one thing, that's not really a fair way to price it out lol.

inI swore by self-taught learning until I saw my coworker's trajectory at Cisco
Certifications aren't everything but they open doors that experience alone just can't. Seeing a coworker level up that fast with the same basic knowledge you have is hard to ignore. The structured studying really does fill in gaps you don't even know you have from just working. Plus hiring managers at big companies love seeing that credential on a resume it's like a shortcut past the gatekeepers. Nothing wrong with being self-taught but combining that with a cert seems like the smarter play now.

inI dropped $200 on a 'gemstone detector' that was just a beeping brick
12 dollars and 80 cents is what I threw away on one of those scam ads last month, some kind of "treasure finder" that was basically a glorified keychain. I used to think people were overreacting about how bad Instagram ads can be, but after getting that piece of junk and then seeing @adam_robinson's post, it finally clicked for me. My buddy bought a cheap metal detector from a pawn shop for like 30 bucks and it actually works for finding coins and stuff at the beach. Those flashy videos really do make you believe you're getting some high tech gadget when it's just plastic and lies. Your mileage may vary but I'm done trusting anything that pops up in my feed with a 'limited time offer' countdown timer.
