My aunt's secret ingredient seemed odd at first
After adding it to my stew, I realized it balances the flavors perfectly. I won't cook without it now.

Eh, that's a shortcut... real flavor comes from technique.

Tell that to a steak cooked perfectly medium rare versus one boiled in a bag. Technique builds flavors you can't buy in a jar. A good sear, knowing when to deglaze a pan, those things change everything. Shortcuts just give you the same flat taste every time.

My buddy tried one of those meal kits and the chicken just tasted steamed, you know? Then he watched a video on pan searing with butter and thyme. The next one he made had this crispy skin and rich sauce from the pan drippings. He said it was like a totally different food.
