That kind of ghost leak is the worst! Plastic valve bodies get brittle and crack right where you can't see it until there's full line pressure on them. At 6 or 7 years old those valves are already on borrowed time, so yeah, swapping them on sight saves you a callback every single time. Cheap part, way cheaper than eating 2 extra hours you didn't quote.

Kept mine in for a while too and had the same problem, but it was the bikes passing me at the stop that got me.
