My neighbor's deck is sinking because they skipped the gravel base

Yeah, that "puddle of mud" is the whole problem. It freezes in winter too, which pushes the post up. Then it thaws and drops. That cycle wrecks the level. I had to fix a fence post like that. Jacked up the structure, dug out the old hole way bigger, filled it with crushed stone, and tamped it down hard before setting a new post on top. The gravel base acts like a tiny French drain.

Just realized I was using the wrong trowel for LVP for months

My buddy used a butter knife for a whole backsplash job once. Said the notches were close enough and he was already late for his kid's game. Every tile is still up five years later.

My aunt's secret ingredient seemed odd at first

My buddy tried one of those meal kits and the chicken just tasted steamed, you know? Then he watched a video on pan searing with butter and thyme. The next one he made had this crispy skin and rich sauce from the pan drippings. He said it was like a totally different food.

Had a weirdly great day on the line thanks to a borrowed tool

That old stethoscope trick is a lifesaver. I keep a cheap mechanic's stethoscope in my box just for that. For clear fluid leaks on a clean system, I swear by the UV dye and a good black light. It sounds simple, but it turns a tiny seep into a glowing trail you can't miss. What kind of hydraulic fluid were you dealing with, and did the stethoscope work because it was a pressurized line or could you hear it dripping into a belly?

Swapped my car for a bike, now my carbon pollution is much lower

Wait, you bike everywhere now? That's wild to me after @the_tyler just said they always drove. I can't even imagine doing groceries or anything without a vehicle. Big change for sure.
