Had a real 'aha' moment at a clinic in Boise last month

Watched a vet use a thermal camera on a navicular case, and now I always check for heat spots before I even pick up a rasp. Anyone else started adding that to their first look?

That thermal check is a game changer. It shows you where the real problem is before you even touch the foot. I've found hot spots on the coronary band that pointed straight to a coffin bone issue, not the navicular we first guessed. Catching that early changes your whole trim and saves the horse a lot of pain. It's like having a map when you're lost.

Wait, you found a coffin bone issue just from a hot spot on the coronary band? That's wild, @phoenixcampbell. Would have bet money on navicular too.

Doubt that heat always points to the coffin bone, could just be a simple abscess brewing. Ever get a false positive with that thermal check?
