Had a tailor tell me my pockets were all wrong

I took a shirt I made to a tailor in Portland and she said the pocket placement was too low by about 2 inches, which threw off the whole visual balance. Has anyone else had a critique that made you rethink where you put details on clothing?

Used to figure pockets were just pockets, long as they worked who cares where they sit. But a buddy pointed out on a flannel I made the chest pocket was sitting right at my nipple line, looked goofy in photos. Moved it up an inch and a half on the next one, whole shirt just looked sharper, more intentional. Your mileage may vary but that one little change really made me pay attention to vertical spacing on everything now.

Right at my nipple line" sounds like a design critique and a cry for help all at once, ha.
