Heads up about the fabric at that big craft store on 5th Ave

I bought some of their 'premium' cotton twill for a jacket project last year and it was great, but the new batch I got last week feels way thinner and pills after one wash. I mean, the price went up by $8 a yard too. Has anyone else noticed a drop in quality with their stuff lately, or know a better place to get heavy twill in the city?

Saw a whole thread about this on a sewing blog last month. People were saying the same thing, that the quality took a nosedive. They're probably using cheaper blends now to cut costs. It's super frustrating when you plan a project around specific materials. That place on 23rd street might be worth checking out, their stuff is usually more consistent.
