Rant: Tried pleating my own fabric for a dress and it came out looking like a crumpled receipt
I spent 4 hours last night hand-pleating some rayon for a summer dress, following a tutorial from some blogger in Seattle. The pleats held for about 30 seconds before the whole thing sagged into a wrinkly mess, and now I'm out 20 bucks in fabric. Anyone else had rayon fight back like this, or did I just pick the wrong material for pleating?

Laughing with you not at you, but yeah rayon is a lying liar that lies. It'll hold a pleat about as well as I hold a grudge.

My grandma swore by cotton for pleats. Like 1950s house dress cotton. That stuff holds a crease like concrete. You ever try a polyester blend with rayon? I had a pair of pants melt in the dryer once, not literally but close.
