I used to call a pro for every drip, not anymore
I always believed faucet fixes were too tricky for me. My kitchen tap ran nonstop last week, so I gave it a go. I found a guide that explained the common parts inside. After turning off the water, I dismantled the handle and stem. There was a small, worn washer that needed swapping. I used one from a basic repair kit I had. Putting it back together was straightforward. Now the faucet works fine, and I feel dumb for not trying earlier.

Totally get that feeling of being scared to try. I used to call my landlord for every little thing too, thinking I'd break it worse. Fixing a leaky shower head last month was my wake up call. It's crazy how most of these jobs just need one cheap part and ten minutes of patience. Now I watch a quick video before I even think about picking up the phone.

My old apartment had a dripping faucet for months. I finally looked up a video and fixed it with a two dollar washer. That tiny win made me tackle bigger things like a wobbly toilet seat.
