PSA: Don't trust the 'vintage' label on a box of records at a garage sale...

I bought a whole crate for $20 because the guy said they were 'classic rock originals.' Got home and every single one was a cheap re-press from the 90s... the covers were just sun-faded. Anyone have a good trick for spotting fakes before you hand over cash?

Check the deadwax for the original stamp.

Deadwax stamps are a whole rabbit hole. I once spent an hour trying to decode one on a beat up old soul record, turned out it was just some random plant worker's initials.
