Question about using a heat gun on stubborn vinyl plank seams

Honestly, I was ready to scrap a whole box of rigid core planks in a Phoenix kitchen because the ends wouldn't lock. Tried a hair dryer for 30 seconds on the groove side and it clicked right in, has anyone else had to get creative with heat on a tricky install?

Heard a pro say 10 seconds with a heat gun is enough.
