The job site moisture meter made a 30% difference in how I prep subfloors
I used to just eyeball moisture levels before hardwood installs, but after a call-back in Phoenix last summer I bought a pinless meter. Now I check every single slab and it's saved me from three potential failures in 6 months. Anyone else switch to a specific moisture check routine?

Honestly, that pinless meter is the way to go but I gotta say 30% difference sounds low for Phoenix. I've seen guys there get nailed by moisture readings changing overnight because of how fast the concrete dries in that heat. You're right to check every slab though, I've had times where a reading was fine in the morning but spiked after a rain storm moved through. The real trick is making sure you're testing deep enough, not just the surface layer, cause that's where the hidden moisture hangs out.
