Back in '98, I was setting up a wedding arch in a damp field outside Portland when the main support snapped clean through.
I ended up weaving the whole thing with chicken wire and zip ties from my truck, and the bride never knew her flowers were hanging on by a prayer and some hardware store finds... has anyone else had to MacGyver a setup at the last minute?

What's a wedding without a little MacGyver magic, like @martin.angela's pallet arch?

Chicken wire and zip ties" is the real wedding planner. I've used baling twine for a whole ceremony backdrop before.

My cousin's entire arch was made from old pallets and a roll of garden fence. It looked amazing in photos, but we were picking splinters out of our hands for a week. The best part was the borrowed staple gun that kept jamming. Makes you wonder what the fancy wedding blogs would say about that kind of DIY.
