Why does nobody talk about the show 'The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.'?

I was rewatching an episode where Brisco finds the Orb, and I finally understood the whole 'comic western' thing after years of thinking it was just a weird sci-fi show. That moment when he says 'the coming thing' about a motorcycle clicked for me. Anyone else have a show they totally misunderstood at first?

That "comic western" thing is exactly right. It's like they took every Saturday morning serial and threw it in a blender with a time machine.

Ugh, that blender image is perfect. It reminds me of this weird old show my grandpa used to watch, "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." It was a total mess of cowboys, sci-fi gadgets, and bad guys in bowler hats. Felt exactly like a cartoon someone made real. They're definitely trying to bottle that same chaotic energy again.
