lol it's a cool discovery but I don't know if I'd call it that serious. @taylor.paige has a point about trusting them more though, those old F bodies were built like tanks no matter what parts they used. People act like a mismatched serial number changes everything but these cameras have been clicking along fine for 50 years with mixed internals.

Ditched a wireless setup from a Colorado outfit last year for the same reason. Hardwired is just way more reliable, no signal drops messing up your lift data.

Those spring clamps are basically useless for anything that needs real pressure. Tried them once on a maple desk and the banding slid right off while I was still positioning it. Picked up some old Jorgensen pipe clamps at a garage sale for ten bucks and they're just in a different league. The even pressure across the whole edge makes a huge difference, no more gaps or uneven spots. Your mileage may vary but for fifteen bucks at the restore, you really can't go wrong.

Waiting five minutes after spraying just lets the water evaporate before it even gets into the bean, so you're really just delaying the grind for no reason. A quick 30 second rest is plenty, the moisture from the spray is already on the surface and does its job during the grind itself. Tap water minerals are a non issue unless you're using a $500 grinder and inspecting the burrs with a microscope.
