My area's move to group gift funds is killing the fun of picking presents
I've seen this change spread through my friends and family over the last couple holidays. Now for birthdays, everyone just chips into a digital money pool instead of buying a physical gift. It feels so impersonal and takes all the thought out of the process. I used to enjoy finding something that fit the person, but now it's just a cash transfer.
