inThought the 'write drunk, edit sober' advice was just a dumb meme until I tried it with lemonade.
That "raw emotional stuff" you found is the key. I've seen this same pattern with exercise or even cleaning. The advice to just start moving, no matter how bad, always sounded pointless. But forcing myself to jog for just five minutes often leads to twenty. The first action, even a little messy, builds its own momentum that a clean plan on paper never could.

inI bought a $30 'as seen on TV' avocado saver that turned my guacamole brown in 2 hours
It's the same with those single-use kitchen tools. My drawer is full of strawberry hullers and garlic peelers that just take up space. A knife and your hands do the same job faster. Companies keep selling us fixes for problems that don't exist. We end up with more junk and a thinner wallet.

inI finally ditched my digital probe thermometer for a classic analog one in the middle of a 200-cover service.
Keep a spare set of batteries in your knife roll... the digital ones always die at the worst time. That old Taylor will never let you down like that.

That hour is how you learn which system variable to check next time though.

inAppreciation post: That $1200 set of rock sliders saved my truck last weekend
That crunch sound is the best money you never spent.
