Update: I was deep into the flat earth rabbit hole for years

Always argued with the 'globe model' using YouTube videos. Then I actually tried to explain the southern hemisphere flight paths to my cousin in Sydney. The math just didn't add up for a flat plane. What's the one thing that finally made you question a theory you believed?

My freezer trick for citrus peels stopped the fruit flies cold.

I started freezing all my orange and lemon rinds in a ziplock for a month before adding them to my worm bin, and it totally fixed the tiny gnat problem I had in my Chicago kitchen.

I tried a new way to check my crane's level on a site in Phoenix

For years I just used the built-in bubble level on the machine. Last month on a job with uneven ground, I brought a digital level from my toolbox. The digital one showed I was off by almost two degrees, which the old bubble level didn't catch. It made a huge difference in how smooth the picks felt. Changed my mind about those cheap phone screen kits from Amazon

Bought a $15 kit for my Pixel 6a. Followed the video, but the adhesive was junk and the screen had a green tint. Wasted an hour and the phone. Ended up paying $80 at a local shop to fix my mess. Anyone know a good brand for screen adhesive strips?

I think we're too quick to push chemical peels for every texture issue

I've seen at least five clients this month who came in with rough skin and were told by other places they needed a series of peels. After a proper skin analysis, I found three of them had compromised barriers from over-washing. I put them on a simple, gentle routine with a ceramide cream for four weeks, and their texture improved more than any peel could have done. It matters because we can do more harm than good if we don't look at the whole picture first. How do you all decide when a peel is truly the right call versus just calming the skin down?

Saw an ad for a site with 'exclusive' AI writing prompts. Cost me $120 upfront. The prompts were just basic stuff like 'write about a lost key' or 'describe a rainy day'. I could have gotten better ideas from a free subreddit. Anyone know a good free resource for actually unique prompts?

My buddy in Denver said to never cheap out on a sleeping pad, and after a miserable night in the Tetons with a $30 foam pad, I finally get it.

Got offered a dispatch job at the same company I was driving for

Honestly, it was a tough call back in 2018. I could stay on the road in my rig, or take a desk job in the Omaha terminal. I picked the desk, thinking it would be easier on my family. Ngl, I missed the open road within six months, and the office politics drove me nuts. Has anyone else switched from a hands-on role to management and regretted it?

Warning: Coming late to the flea market gets me better deals

Most folks swear you need to be there when it opens to find anything good. I show up an hour before closing and sellers are happy to slash prices just to move stuff. Isn't it smarter to let the early birds do the digging for you?
