Hot take: My landlord keeps calling my studio a 'hobby room' and it drives me up the wall.
I mean, this is my job, not some weekend craft project.

Seriously though, it's just a word choice. Like, jamie_taylor's laundry office is clearly a joke. Maybe your landlord doesn't mean it in a bad way, you know? It might not be that deep.

See this all the time where people act like creative work isn't real work until it makes a ton of money. It's the same vibe as calling someone's small business a 'little project' or asking an artist when they'll get a 'real job'. Drives me nuts because it makes the whole hustle feel cheap. Your studio is your office, plain and simple.
