PSA: my $200 kiln shelf upgrade was a total game changer
I finally replaced my old, warped shelves after a year of fighting with uneven heating and it completely changed my annealing results. The new ones are so flat I can actually set a cup down without it wobbling. Anyone else put off a simple upgrade that made a huge difference?

What brand of shelves did you go with?

Oh man, @mason847, I feel your pain. I spent weeks looking at shelf brands and it was a total headache. I almost went with a big box store set, but the reviews said they wobbled if you put anything heavy on them. Ended up finding a local guy who builds them with thicker wood, and honestly, it was worth the extra wait. My advice is to check the weight limit twice, because those specs can be really misleading.

Had a buddy who grabbed those rubbermaid wire shelves from a home store. Looked decent at first but after a couple months the brackets started bending under just a few toolboxes. He ended up replacing them with some metal industrial units from a restaurant supply place.
