I found a street in my town that only exists on certain maps

I was trying to find a shortcut to the grocery store last Thursday and my phone GPS showed a road called 'Cedar Bend' cutting through the park. I drove there and it was just trees, no pavement at all. I checked a paper map from 2010 at the library and the road was on it, but the newer city planning map didn't have it. I asked three neighbors and two remembered the name, but one swore it never existed. Has anyone else found a place that seems to have been edited out of reality?
