Found a box of old movie posters in my uncle's attic in Omaha

They were from the 80s and 90s, all hand-painted for the local theater. The colors are so bold and the brush strokes are everywhere, you can see the artist's hand in every line. It's a totally different feel from the slick digital stuff we see now. Anyone else have a favorite piece of old-school, physical design like that?

My local record shop still has those old painted signs in the window. I mean, you just don't see that kind of craft in a storefront anymore.

I get what you're saying, but for me digital design has its own kind of beauty and precision.

You said you can see the artist's hand in every line, and that really hits home. I used to think the new digital stuff was just better, but finding an old painted sign changed my mind. You can't fake that kind of life in a piece.
