Just realized how much a simple welcome email change can boost sign-ups
I was looking at our sign-up flow numbers last week and saw a big drop-off after the first email. I read a case study from a small SaaS company in Portland that said they doubled their second-week activity just by adding a short video to their welcome email. The video was just a 45-second screen recording of the founder showing the main dashboard. I tried it with a simple Loom clip of me clicking through our app's three key features. In the first four days, our click rate on that email went from 12% to 31%. People actually replied to the email asking questions, which never happened before. It seems obvious now, but showing instead of telling in that first touch makes a huge difference. Has anyone else tested adding video to their onboarding sequence and seen similar jumps?

We did a quick explainer video for our welcome email and saw a 40% bump in setup completions. Just makes it feel more human.

What if you tried a voice note instead of a video?

Ever think about mixing both? Like @xena_kim's video but maybe a voice note over some simple slides? That combo could feel personal without needing everyone on camera.
