Vent: The mountain town was a letdown until I took a wrong turn
I drove hours to this place everyone online raved about. It was just a crowded street with overpriced shops and no parking. I got so fed up that I just started driving on a random dirt road. Ended up at this old logging trail with a waterfall nobody mentioned. The water was ice cold and perfect, with no one else around. Spent the whole afternoon there instead. Felt like I actually found something real for once.

Those hidden spots are never in the guidebooks.

How do you even find those places without local tips? I remember stumbling on this tiny cafe in Rome down an alley no map showed. The food was amazing, and it felt like a secret just for us. But then I tried to go back years later, and it was gone, which makes those spots even more special. Guidebooks just can't keep up with what's real and alive in a city.
