Seeing how my kid's bike chain works cleared up fuel system issues for me

I was teaching my daughter how to lube her bicycle chain last week. She kept pedaling but the bike would slip and jerk forward. It reminded me of a diesel engine with air in the fuel lines. Both systems need a smooth, continuous flow to work right. Now when I see an engine surging, I check for air leaks first instead of jumping to the injectors.
