Hit 500 hours on a single frame machine and it's still dead on

Everyone at my shop in Phoenix says you need to replace the measuring system on a frame rack every 300 hours or so. I just passed 500 hours on my Chief EZ Liner's laser system without a single recalibration. I check it against the tram gauges and my old-school tape measure every Friday, and it's still perfect. I think a lot of guys are too quick to blame the tools when the real issue is shop vibration or not keeping the sensors clean. Has anyone else pushed a measuring system way past its supposed service life without problems?

Update: I spent three hours trying to fix a broken hollandaise sauce last night

My first kitchen job I thought you could just whisk hot butter in fast. A broken bearnaise during a busy Saturday service taught me the hard way. Now I keep a bowl of ice water nearby to cool the base down if things start to look greasy.
