Hot take: Spending $800 on a full set of rock sliders was the smartest move I made before my Moab trip.
I watched a guy in a shiny new Gladiator with just side steps rip his entire rocker panel off on a trail I drove right over, so what's your take on armor versus just hoping you don't hit anything?

That's not even a hot take, it's just smart. Lunab97 is right about it being cheap insurance. Hoping you don't hit anything is a good way to end up with a huge repair bill.

Oh man, ABSOLUTELY agree. I watched a buddy crunch his doors on a simple ledge because he had no sliders. That stuff is cheap insurance compared to a body shop bill, no question.
