inA client's offhand comment about their old laptop made me rethink my whole process
Jason's got it wrong. That data is not just another part of the job. It's the most important part. You're holding someone's whole life on that drive, their memories and personal stuff. Treating it like any other file is careless. We have a real duty to handle that with extra care and respect. It's about seeing the person behind the computer.

inMy aunt's garden in Tucson showed me how stupid I was about herbs
My buddy tried growing basil on his fire escape last year and killed it in a week, totally overwatered the thing. He switched to mint in a coffee can and that stuff just would not die, even when he forgot about it for a few days. Honestly, mint is basically a weed that smells good, you almost have to try to kill it. Just give it some dirt, a pot with a hole in the bottom, and that sunny window. It grows so fast you'll feel like a pro.

inWhy does nobody talk about the cost of a proper forge setup?
That farrier is right about needing the right tools for custom work. I read an article where a guy said he saved for two years to buy a power hammer, and it changed his whole business. Isn't it a trade-off between taking on debt now or losing jobs for years while you save up slow? My buddy in welding faced the same thing with his rig. You just have to decide if the work you're missing out on is worth the loan payment every month.

inUpdate on that 'bargain' drysuit I bought online for $800
My old Scubapro suit leaked at the neck seal on a Lake Michigan dive. I sent it to DUI in San Diego for a full reseal, which ran about $400, but they gave it a full inspection too. That was five years ago and it's still bone dry. Have you looked into sending yours back to the maker for a proper fix?

inA lead mechanic in Atlanta told me to ignore a specific fault code on a G1000 system
Used to trust those old hands until I found a real short the same way.
