inMy uncle told me to always use a rasp before the finish file on a quarter crack, and after a bad job in Boise last month I finally listened.
Funny how the old school steps exist for a reason, right? It's like skipping the primer before painting a wall (the paint just peels off). For rasps, the basic ones from the farm store have never let me down, the kind with the wooden handle. The key is just getting that surface clean for the patch to stick, nothing fancy needed.

inI used to trim every horse the same way until a bad stumble changed my mind
Check your math again, Hannah. Ten extra minutes is nothing. I can't even get my shoes on in that time.

inI started asking 'what's the one thing you'd change?' instead of 'any feedback?'
Specific questions force people to actually think.

inI thought wrapping brisket in butcher paper was just a gimmick until my buddy in Austin made me try it.
Wait, fourteen hours? That's a marathon cook right there. I'm shocked the flat didn't turn into shoe leather. Guess the paper really does work some magic.

inHit 500 hours on the same Garmin G1000 trainer and it felt like a waste
Damn, that's a wild example. So the sim basically trained you to expect a fault that almost never happens in real life. How do you even begin to trust the other failure modes after something like that? Makes me wonder if the training ends up making people too robotic with the checklists instead of actually understanding the systems.
