I thought those cheap Chinese winches were junk, but mine pulled my rig out of a mud hole in Moab.

Bought a $250 winch off a sketchy website last year as a backup. It's been through three hard pulls now and hasn't quit once. What's the most surprising piece of gear that's held up for you?

Honestly, that tracks with my experience. Grabbed a no-name cordless drill from a discount tool truck years ago, fully expecting it to die on the first project. Thing's still going, outlasted two brand name batteries. Sometimes you just get weirdly lucky with the cheap stuff.
