Leaf spring vs coil swap on my FJ40, coil ride won by a mile

I spent last fall converting my 1978 FJ40 from stock leaf springs to a 4-link coil setup using parts from a local wrecking yard in Tucson. The difference off-road at low speed over rocks is night and day, no more axle hop or that jarring head toss I got on every washboard road. Has anyone else done this swap and found the extra fab work worth it, or did you stick with upgraded leaves for simplicity?
