Tried an electric winch vs a hydraulic one on my F-150 build

I ran an electric winch for about six months and swapped to a hydraulic setup last weekend. The hydraulic is slower but way more reliable when I'm pulling stumps out back in the mud. Has anyone else made that switch and noticed the same thing?

Used to be all about electric winches. Figured the speed was worth the hassle of keeping the battery topped off and dealing with the heat. Then you get stuck good in the mud and that electric motor just sits there smoking while the hydraulic one keeps pulling slow and steady. Changed my mind completely after that. The hydraulic winch is way more dependable when it really counts, even if it takes its sweet time.

Wow, yeah, you totally just convinced me. I was wrong about electric.

Wait, your electric winch literally started smoking?? That's wild, I've never seen one do that before. Honestly thought the whole battery thing was just people being dramatic.

Smoking" is right. Had an electric one overheat on a rocky ledge, nearly lost the truck.
