Comparing OCR tools for digitizing my grandma's letters changed my whole workflow
I spent last month scanning 200 handwritten letters from the 1960s and Google Lens kept mangling the cursive. Switched to a local open source tool with a handwriting model and it got maybe 90% accurate on the first pass. Instead of fixing every word by hand, I only had to spot check maybe 30 pages. Anyone else hit the wall with old handwriting and find a better setup?

Started scanning my kids' old drawings and now I can't stop.
