Debating if generative AI image tools kill creativity or boost it after talking to a designer in Austin

I was at a coffee shop last week and ran into a graphic designer who swore AI tools like DALL-E make her job easier, but another guy nearby argued it makes artists lazy and strips away the craft. What's your take - do these tools help you work faster or just water down the originality?

My stick figures are safe from AI competition, that's for sure.

Honestly, people act like this is life or death. A designer using DALL-E to mock up a concept is not the same as some AI program winning a Pulitzer, you know? I've seen plenty of bland human-made logos and ads long before AI came along, so the "death of creativity" thing feels overblown. Most people can't even tell the difference between a real photo and a good AI one anyway (and they don't care).
