Dropped $60 on an AI writing tool that just rewrote my grocery lists
I paid for a subscription to some AI content generator that promised it'd save me hours. All it did was take my blog draft about houseplants and make it sound like a robot from 2015. Has anyone else found a free tool that actually adds real voice instead of just fluff?

Jasper.ai worked better for me but still needs heavy editing.

Copy your draft into Hemingway Editor first. That free site strips out the robot fluff and leaves real sentences.

Same here, man. I've been through six different AI writing tools in the last two years (trying to save time on client emails) and every single one leaves the same hollow feeling. The Hemingway trick works for basic cleanup but it can't fix the core problem where the voice just sounds like a generic robot trying to be friendly. I spent three hours last week rewriting a single blog post that Jasper had "finished" in 30 seconds. It's honestly exhausting, like you're doing double the work. I'm starting to think the best tool is just a blank page and a deadline, you know?
