Had a chat with my neighbor's mom that changed how I season my fries

She told me she sprays her frozen fries with water before seasoning them in the air fryer. Tried it last night with a batch of crinkle cuts at 400 for 12 minutes and the salt stuck way better than before. Has anyone else tried this trick for getting seasoning to hold?

wait so you're telling me i've been eating sad dry seasonless fries my whole life when all i had to do was give them a little spritz first? that's actually genius and also makes me feel like an absolute idiot for never thinking of it. i always just tossed my frozen fries in oil and hoped for the best but half the seasoning ends up in the bottom of the basket anyway. so basically you're saying i need to start a whole new relationship with my air fryer where we actually communicate instead of just yelling at each other through the smoke detector.

wait have you tried spraying them with a little oil AND tossing them in a bowl with your seasoning before they even hit the basket? that's the real game changer. do you do that or just hope for the best?
