Heard someone at the store say air fryers are just tiny ovens and honestly I nearly lost it right there in the aisle

I was grabbing frozen egg rolls and this guy told his friend they're the same as a toaster oven with a fan, but after 2 years of using mine 5 nights a week I've cooked frozen chicken thighs in 12 minutes flat that come out crispy on the outside and juicy inside, has anyone else had to defend their air fryer to a skeptic?

Nearly lost it in the aisle" - yeah I've shut down three people by just microwaving them store-bought taquitos and air frying the same batch side by side.

Are you really saying microwaved taquitos even compare to air fried ones though? I mean @keith264 I get your point about convenience, but the texture difference alone is massive. A microwave just turns them into a soggy mess with chewy spots. You can’t fake that crispy crunch with a microwave unless you like eating wet cardboard. And honestly, if three people are that easily impressed by a store bought taquito, maybe they just don’t care about food quality in the first place.
