My air fryer just hit 500 days of use and I did the math on what it saved me
I got a little counter app back in 2022 to track my air fryer cooks and it rolled over to 500 about a week ago. Between reheating leftovers and doing chicken thighs in 18 minutes instead of 40 in the oven, my electric bill dropped about $11 a month compared to when I used the big oven for everything. Anyone else keep a running count, or am I the only weirdo tracking this stuff?
500 days of air fryer use and a counter app to go with it? That is a whole lot of tracking for eleven bucks a month, which adds up to maybe 130 a year if my math is right. I get wanting to know if a gadget pays for itself, but keeping a running log like it's a science project feels like a lot of work for a small win. Plus the oven still gets used for big stuff like turkeys and casseroles, so you never really cut it out all the way. Is the app really worth the hassle of logging every single cook?
