My local diner added air-fried onion rings to the menu this year.

I still get that fair food taste from my air fryer onion rings, but without all the grease.

Oh man, my own attempts at those are a solid second place. I get the taste right, but my breading is always a little uneven, like a patchy lawn. Still, I can't complain about eating a whole plate without feeling like I need a nap.

Yeah, the diner near me did that too, and honestly it's a game changer. @davidw14, I hear you on the patchy lawn breading, my last batch looked like a crumb rebellion where half the onions decided to go naked. Still, even my messed up ones are a win because you get that fairground flavor without the heavy grease feeling. Patchy lawn breading" is so real. Try dipping them in a thin batter first, then the crumbs. It sticks way better.
