Had a young apprentice tell me torque wrenches are overrated on smaller bolts...
He said he's been using a calibrated wrist for two years on panel screws and never had a complaint, but then last Tuesday I watched him strip a #8 nutplate on a Cessna 172 panel and had to spend 45 minutes drilling it out.

Calibrated wrist" - that's never ended in drilling out a fastener for me either.
