Honeywell panel programming - I had it backwards for 6 years
I always thought you had to wire tamper loops normally closed and alarm loops normally open. Then I did a service call at a church in Toledo where the alarm kept false triggering. Old timer showed me you can flip the zone type to NC for alarm loops too and it cleans up noise issues. Has anyone else found that changing zone polarity helps with false alarms in older buildings?

...and my buddy Matt spent a year pulling his hair out over false alarms at a old warehouse he serviced. He finally called the original installer who straight up told him to flip all the alarm loops to NC and the noise issues just vanished. Matt said it was like the building's wiring was designed to mess with NO circuits specifically. He still swears by that trick for any building built before the 80s.

Read somewhere that old buildings can pick up ghost voltages that mess with NO circuits way more than NC.

Right, because old buildings just love to play games with your voltage readings I guess.
