My client in a new condo building said 'I don't care about the tech, I just want to know if my dog is okay'

I was setting up a full smart home system with cameras and sensors, and she stopped me to ask that. It made me realize I was selling the wrong thing first. Now I lead with pet alerts and peace of mind, not specs. Anyone else shift their pitch after a simple customer comment?

But honestly, focusing only on the pet angle seems short-sighted. You're selling a whole system, right? If you just talk about the dog camera, you're leaving money on the table by not explaining the other features. Some people actually do care about the tech specs and security.
