I lost $80 on that 'waterless car wash' spray from the shelf at the gas station on Lomas last weekend

It just smeared dirt around and left swirl marks all over my paint, had to re-wash everything with a bucket and hose - has anyone else tried one of those and actually had it work?

Oh man, my buddy Dave grabbed one of those at a 7-Eleven in ABQ last year. He was so proud of himself until he looked at his hood in the sun and it looked like a cat had been using it as a scratching post.

That whole thing about it being "waterless" is kind of a lie actually. Those sprays need you to use a ton of microfiber towels and change them out constantly, otherwise you're just grinding dirt into the clear coat. The bottle says one thing but the real trick is you basically have to wash the car twice - once with the spray and then again with water to get the residue off. So it's not even saving you time or money in the long run. Your swirl marks are from the dirt particles getting trapped under that spray, not from the product itself failing. But yeah, I wouldn't waste your cash on another one unless you're okay with a lot of elbow grease and extra towels. Did you try any kind of clay bar or polish after to get the swirls out?
