Sandia Peak is taller than I thought and now I feel dumb about a 15 year argument
I always figured Sandia Peak was around 8,000 feet until I looked it up on the city website last night and saw 10,678. I have been telling people that number was way lower for years, including a guy at a bar on Central who probably still thinks I'm an idiot. Does anyone know why the tram goes to a spot that isn't even the real top, or am I the only one who just found this out?
10,678 is wild, I would've guessed the same as you. The tram stops at the crest cause thats where they could build the station, the actual peak is a bit further up the ridge.
