Dropped a sub after 40 episodes, the pacing finally got me

I stuck with this isekai for 40 episodes because everyone swore it gets better, but by episode 35 I was watching at 1.5x speed just to stay awake. Finally bailed when the main character spent 3 whole episodes preparing for a festival that got skipped over in a montage. Anyone else hit that wall where sunk cost turns into resentment instead of payoff?

My sister does this exact thing with dating. She'll stay with a guy for six months out of pure spite, telling everyone its about to get good, then one day he says the wrong thing about her cooking and she dumps him in a single text. Same with people who hate their jobs but stay for the 401k match. Our brains just hate admitting we wasted time, so we double down instead of cutting losses at episode 12 where the warning signs were obvious.
