TIL my town's food pantry actually needs unexpired canned goods within 6 months of purchase, not just anything past the sell-by date

Wait, so they actually check the dates that closely? I just assumed canned goods lasted forever since my grandma had stuff from like 2012 in her pantry. That's wild they toss 40% of donations though, seems like a huge waste of food and effort. Now I'm gonna start checking the dates before I buy stuff for the drop off box.

Had a run of parts last month where every single one was out of spec by 0.002. Turned out the coolant was way too cold.

Yeah for real! I had a buddy who's mustang kept overheating after every track day. Turns out some jerk at the shop had been dumping sugar into his radiator every time he brought it in for an oil change at @harper_owens shop. Took three shop visits and a blown head gasket to finally catch it on camera. People can be absolute scumbags when they get jealous of someone's ride.

The gallery owner in Portland told me my digital prints were 'too clean' and it stuck with me

Perfection in digital art is basically just admitting you let the software do all the work.

That one Tuesday when my end mill survived a crash that should have trashed it

What brand of end mill was it?

Warning: don't trust pre-assembled drawer boxes from that big lumber yard

Cut ties with those big supplier warehouses for good this year, the quality slide is real across everything they touch now from cabinets to door hardware. It's the same story I'm seeing with fast fashion and cheap tools, where they pump out volume and hope nobody notices the corners they cut until you're stuck with the mess. Best move you can make is to vet every supplier like you're hiring a new worker for your crew.
