That Wednesday my Ghibli marathon got ruined by a bad dub

I had last Wednesday off work. Planned a whole day of Studio Ghibli films. Starting with Spirited Away, then Howl's Moving Castle, ending with Princess Mononoke. Got snacks, blankets, the whole setup. Then I pressed play and realized the streaming service had the English dub as default. Not the original Japanese track. I was 20 minutes in before I noticed. The voices felt so wrong. Mononoke's dub made Ashitaka sound like a generic hero guy. Lost all the emotion. Switched to Japanese audio and had to rewatch from the start. Threw my whole schedule off. Has anyone else had a mood killer like that with a bad localization?

Did you pay extra for that streaming service? Feels like they should let you pick the language upfront instead of forcing the dub.

Life's full of those small defaults that mess up your whole mood without warning.
