Warning: I was making my anime watchlist posts way too long

Someone on here told me my seasonal watchlist breakdowns were a 'wall of text' and hard to follow. They said to pick just three shows and give a quick reason for each, not a full essay on everything. I changed my format last month and started doing exactly that. My new posts get like 5 times more comments now because people can actually engage with the picks. Has anyone else had to cut down their usual post length to get more discussion going?

My old recipe blog posts used to include my entire life story before the ingredients list. I finally just posted the dang instructions and a picture of the cookies. Suddenly, people could actually find the butter measurement.

That "wall of text" thing is so real! My friend ran a gaming blog and his reviews were these huge deep dives. He switched to just three quick points, like "fun combat, great story, bad loot system," and his comments blew up. It's exactly like what nancy351 said, you just need to give people the cookie picture, not the whole bakery backstory. Making things easy to read totally changes the game.
