inI finally got our book club to stop arguing by making everyone write down their main point before speaking.
Pointless bickering" over a book club seems a bit dramatic. It's just people talking about a story, not a court case. The notecard thing sounds like extra homework to me.

inMy uncle told me to always set posts in the rain, and I finally tried it on a job in Portland last month.
That's a good point about the concrete. I remember reading an old farm manual that said the same thing. It claimed pouring water into a post hole without concrete just packs the dirt better, like making mud. But if you add concrete mix, the water starts the curing process. So the rain might have helped set the concrete faster, but it's the concrete doing the holding.

inMy neighbor said my paint job looked like a toddler did it, and honestly, he was right.
Ngl, my first attempt at grout looked like a toddler's art project. How do you mess up something that's supposed to be straight lines?

inQuestion about the actual tensile strength of that old RG-6 we all find in attics
Actually, the connector failing first is a good thing. It's designed to be the weak point on purpose. If the wire itself snapped under tension, you'd have a much bigger problem to fix. Karen's question about the wire snapping is spot on, because that's the failure you really don't want. The 150 pound rating is for a clean pull on new wire, not yanking old stuff stuck in a wall.

inJust compared making my own taco seasoning to the little packets
Depends on how much you waste, honestly.
